Great news
again! The Sarpy County Fair Board
is sponsoring a DEMOLITION DERBY in the Rodeo Arena Saturday night –
approximately 6pm start time. We
hope this attracts more people and will be considered a 1st annual
event!
NOTE: The Springfield Days planning committee
is planning not only a Barn Dance and Beer Garden in the Pavilion Building on
Saturday night, but also other activities such as an Antiques Roadshow, cake
walk and other events. This means
the Pavilion building will NOT be available for vendor spaces this year.
Booking
update: The Open Class building is
nearly full already and there are still spaces available in the School Exhibit
building. We are working on the
possibility of opening the Commercial Building for vendors, but this is still
in the works.

get approximately 80 vendors selling anything under the sun. Our goal is 90 vendors this year! 125,782 visits to this website since it
began in 2005, and an average of 2,000 hits per month…keep it going!

include Casey, the Mascot for the Omaha Royals as the Grand Marshall of the
Grande Parade at 10:30am Saturday.
Springfield is welcoming the Royals to Sarpy County! Bounce house for kids, state BBQ
contest, and Charlotte Endorf from the Nebraska Humanities Council will be
dressed in authentic mid 1800s attire while presenting on the Orphan Trail at
noon Saturday.

Exhibit Building and 3 available in the Open Class building and lot of room in

URGENT: Early flea
market registration for Springfield Residents is February 20.
Springfield residents and those living in area code 68059 are being offered
early registration priority to be flea market vendors at the 2009 Springfield
Days celebration. All vendors from home-based businesses such
as Watkins, Usborne Books, Pampered Chef, and Premier Designs Jewelry are
welcome, but duplicate vendors from identical distributing companies are not
permitted. A record setting 92 vendors joined Springfield Days in 2008
and organizers are wanting to ensure home-based business owners from
Springfield are given top priority while shoppers are exposed to the widest
variety of vendors.

Year! We are starting to gear up
for the best yet Bugeater Flea Market and Craft Fair during Springfield
Days. Springfield Days will be
Friday evening and all day Saturday, June 12 and 13. Marketplace hours are Friday, 5pm-10pm and Saturday,
8am-4pm. Of course vendors will
remain open if there are lots of shoppers! We will not be open on Sunday, June 14.
Vendors, tell
your customers. Shoppers, please
tell other shoppers! The more
shoppers this year, the more vendors next year, and we will continue to grow. The new 2009 online vendor application
will be posted on this website, but feel free to complete the 2008 version for
now. Just remember the above dates
and hours of operation.

joined us for a great weekend sale and fun small town activities in
Springfield. Thank you vendors,
shoppers and everyone who made Springfield Days a success – despite the

Days and Bugeater Flea Market will return in 2009. Springfield Days will be scheduled for June 12-13 and
Bugeater Flea Market will run Friday night from 5-10pm and Saturday from

vendors signed up and ready to sell you great bargains and things you will not
likely find in stores this weekend.
Don’t miss the new and improved Duck Drop which will be streaming down
main street this year and be sure your children are ready to dance to the
String Beans Saturday at 1pm at the Methodist Church parking lot. Rain performance will be in the
Community Building.

Market and Craft Fair has returned for Springfield Days in 2008. The flea market craft fair will be open
Friday June 6 from 5-10pm, and Saturday and Sunday June 7 and 8 from 8am to
4pm. Special Vendor Rates of $35
inside and $25 outside for ALL THREE DAYS!

obligations and work schedule changes we have cancelled our remaining 2007
shows scheduled for August 18-19 and October 6-7. We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage you to
continue shopping flea markets in Southeast Nebraska. This is an exciting industry with great potential in this
area and we are sad to put our shows on hold at this time.

Plenty of time
to enjoy a new line up of vendors at Bugeater Flea Market before you watch the
Huskers vs. Iowa State on October 7 – 7:00pm on Fox Sports Net.
One space has
opened up in the Open Class building due to a cancellation. Apply now to be sure you get listed in
our directory that will be printed early next week and handed out to shoppers
at the gate. Last minute vendors
are welcome to stop by Friday afternoon and pick out a space from those
available. Free online ads for
vendors who join us October 7-8 will be left up all winter for some extra
promotion of their business. This

Three spaces
are available to rent in the Open Class building as of today. We have expanded our network lineup of
TV spots to include Lifetime movie channel and A&E, running the week
preceding each market weekend this year.

continue to apply and join us. It
is easy to become a vendor and just as fun since you can shop early for
bargains! Advance booth
reservation continues until the week before each show (September 2 and October
1, 2006). After that, come down
and pick out a space to set up on Friday afternoons of each market
weekend. Plenty of good indoor and
outdoor spaces are available.

We have
tentatively reserved the fairgrounds for our 2007 dates. We are planning
to operate every other month from April through October next year. April
21-22 : June 9-10 (pending negotiation with Springfield Days Committee) :

New fencing
around the perimeter of the Pavilion building means it can now be locked
overnight to secure vendor’s belongings.
Revised East and West maps will be uploaded soon based on recent improvements
to the fairgrounds.

The Open Class
building is now rented to capacity for the September 17-18 market weekend. Outdoor and Pavilion spaces are still
available. The Pavilion is an
excellent facility with good lighting and air flow. There are still openings in all buildings for our October
22-23 show.

Studios in Springfield is hosting a 2nd Annual Invitational Art Show featuring
Midwest artists. This event will be held the same weekend as our Grand
Opening September 17-18, 2005 and is expected to draw a large crowd to both

The Sarpy
County Fair Board recently completed construction on a new 100’ X 150’ Pavilion
Building. We will be able to use this space for an additional 53 indoor
vendors. It is an open-air building with electrical hookups on the
perimeter, concrete floors and excellent lighting. Check out the updated
map for configuration of spaces.
